Feeling festive yet? Why not start working up your appetite for some Xmas turkey by coming to a SANTA DASH to raise funds for Cartmel primary school. It’s on Sunday the 1st of December. More details here … Cartmel_primary-sch_santadash.
After the race, a few items left behind were found during clearing up .. water bottles and a towel.
Please get in touch to claim them.
A massive thanks to all the 80 runners who came to Allithwaite last Saturday, all the people who helped set up, all the marshals and Heather, Ruth & Gill in the community centre! It was so nice to hear from runners, on the finish line, how great the marshals had been.
This one was a tricky one to organise, due to a few hiccups the day before, but we hope you really enjoyed the changes in terrain from open cross-country to tight trail, road, watersplash & fell. Sorry the sunshine wasn’t out, but we did pretty well for weather on the day compared to setting up the course the day before.
The results are now as .pdf files on the results part of the website. We’d love to see you again in 2020!
WELL DONE to Stephen Wilson and Darran Carr for completing Lakes-in-a-day. It was Darran’s first time at the event and Steve’s 2nd. This time he could see rather more of the view from the high fells than he could 2 years ago on his first completion of the race! He also beat his time from 2017 too – great stuff!
Wednesday 19th June 2019. We’ve got a very-kind invitation from Dallam Running Club to join them on a run across the sands of Morecambe Bay, from Flookburgh to Arnside. The Bay Rescue will be on hand to help people if they get stuck. Several of us have signed up already. Please go to …
The Sands Chase challenge 2019
This year Jim Robson won it, crossing the line about 20 s after midday. Thank you to all those club members, friends and visitors who turned out to run it.
Cartmel primary school are holding a santa dash on the 2nd of December, from Cartmel Park.
A massive thank you to all the people who came to run in this year’s Allithwaite-8. To all the 102 starters and 103 ‘finishers’ … well done!!! We expect you’re wondering, “What on earth is …?” Well, there was a chap who’d arrived late and joined the tail of the race some minutes after the start :-). The results for the 102 are now available by clicking here.
Anyway, it has been really nice to read the comments which have been added to the club’s facebook site. If you’d like to suggest something for the race in 2019, please let us know (we’re aware that people would appreciate a few arrows on the last hill down to the post office and the finish).
We hope you can find yourself in the photos on the facebook site too. Sorry we couldn’t book last year’s sunshine, but hey … it wasn’t as bad as for ‘A day in a lake’ 3 weeks ago!
